Dark pine trees against a mountainous grey background.

Whatever the Wind Brings

Some pictures from my hometown

This post is just a photodump.

View through a window with a church in the distance. There's a railing in the window and barbed wire over a wall a few meters ahead.

A building at sunset with some lights on in a few apartments.

A street downtown with large sidewalks, benches and trees.

A rundown square with lots of trees and a church in the background.

Same square as before, but from a side street showing more of the trees.

Another street downtown, but made of paving stone and with trees arching over the street.

Fun fact about this last street: the sidewalks have fossilized footprints because, when they were built decades ago, people didn't realize the quarry had fossils. There's an archaeological museum a few blocks away from where I took this photo, and there are some placards in a few places explaining the footprints.

Here are two of those placards. No alt because there is a lot of text and images and it's all in Portuguese.

The first placard talking about the fossilized footprints.

The second placard talking about the fossilized footprints.
